Activities of the Department of Tamil do not stop with mere class room lectures. Ample opportunities are provided for overall growth of the students keeping in mind the Vision and Mission of the College. These opportunities are provided through Tamil Mandram.

Inauguration: The activities of Tamil Mandram were formally inaugurated on 15th July 09 which also happens to be the birth day of former Chief Minister Kamaraj. Dr Janakiraman, Public Relations Officer Tamil Virtual University delivered the Inaugural Address. Oratorical contest was organized on the Topic “Contributions of Kamaraj for the cause of Education” Pattimandram was also conducted on the topic “Politics or Cinema that greatly affects the present day student community” On 27th August, Oratory, Kavithai,Singing and Dance competitions were organized. In addition, Pattimandram was also conducted on the topic” Youth or the Elders who contribute greatly for the development of the community”.

On 24th Sep 09, classes for the Virtual University were inaugurated by Dr.Nakkeeran, Director, Tamil Virtual University. Dr Janakiraman, PRO and Dr Nizam Md Ikbal also participated.

Pongal Vizha and Tamil New Year Day was celebrated on 13th Jan 10 in the college Auditorium. Students prepared Pongal and distributed to all and also participated in various cultural programmes.
